How can I communicate?
asked by EvolvingCommunicator on 9 April 2008 23:40
I realize this is a vague question.
The most important emails and phone calls of my life have gone unanswered, either by me or them. I get so afraid and so confused by people.
Basically ... I'm living with my parents, and need to approach talking with them about painful things in a way that I am not so overcome by emotion that I can't speak.
Basically, second, I have NO other social relations and need to get a job and be with people.
Basically, third, I am so confused by how people close to me have treated me, it has skewed my trust, belief, and worldviews.
Is that something like an okay question? Do you have things like okay answers?

I have some difficulty communicating as well. For me, it's easier to write what's on my mind than it is to say it out loud. It gives me time to think about what I want to say and it also helps me to slow down my mind that usually travels a lot quicker than I can keep up with.
I'm not sure if that made sense or helped at all. Any question that requires an answer for the sake of your peace of mind is an okay question.
For the most part, people have always confused me. There's a lot of double-meanings and mixed messages out there. Motives, actions, words and intentions don't always match either.
I just got the job I have after two years of being a homemaker and still learning how to interact with others. I was never that good at it before. It gets easier, little by little. I still have moments of frustration, but it takes time.
