How do I know when I'm dreaming?
asked by SW_Succubus on 10 January 2008 11:31
I don't know when I'm dreaming & when I'm not. It's like I live in 2 seprate worlds, I've tried little tips I've seen online like seeing if you can read things both as a whole word & one letter at a time & I can in both places. Hurting myself or an object in my room, the marks & scars are still visable in both worlds. I have romantic relationships & friends & family in both. I try to pay attention to places where they may overlap or some tell tale signs but it never happens.
I'm very confused! Am I just insane? Who do I talk to about something like this without ending up in a rubber room?

That may help, I can feel my heart beating here & I can feel me breathing. Then I got caught up in going to walmart with my g/f's brother (one of my roomies) watching the snow in the headlights. Luckly it's been suggested I never drive because my attention span is kinda short
you're not crazy! if i were you i'd consider it a blessing, not many have such control over their dreams, i practice lucid dreaming and try to search for dream like elements in daily life all the time to meld the two together...ooh you should watch the movie vanilla sky, or the science of sleep
Man, even I'm a bit confused here. :P So are you saying that when you're actually awake, you can't tell if you're still in a dream state? If that's the case, maybe you can try feeling your heart beat, or perhaps try sensing yourself breathing in and out. I think if you feel either of those 2 things, you're more than likely in reality.
