My mom recently died of cancer. and everyone keeps telling me i havent had time to mourn and that once I do everything will be easier and it wont hurt so bad. how do you mourn? I feel like i havent done anything. sometimes im sad and the slightest thing that reminds me of my mom will make me cry and other days it will make me happy and smile.
Answers
There is no right or wrong way to mourn. Everyone does it in their own way on their own time. It sounds to me like you already are.... in your way. Go ahead and cry when you need to cry and enjoy the happy memories. You're doing just fine by going through it in a way that's natural for you.
In truth, the most precious and worthy way to mourn is to do it in the way you feel that it honors your mother the most. There is no standard to do this, for everyone is unique and different in their own way.
I hope for the best.
