just met this guy and he knows im a cutter but doesnt fully understand the full aspect of the mental condition as well as the others i have. How do i help him without scaring him and how do we explain it to his family in a way theyll understand
Answers
Ophelia is right, if he was scared he would have done it already. Good start off. Take it slow. I mean is it really necessary for his family to know what your situation is? You just met, right? But it's really up to you and how comfortable you are. If his family won't understand, then there is really nothing you can do. Just as long as you two are happy that's all that matters. Keep in mind I am only saying this based on your question. Hope is helps.

Kudos for being up-front with him about it, that's a very hard thing to do. The only thing you can really do is sit down with him and explain the situation to him. If he runs because of it, he would have eventually run anyway.
Don't worry about his family until you know for sure that it will actually get serious.
