Is that just the narcissim talking? I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I wasn't abused, and I think I am well adjusted enough to say that openly. whats wrong with not caring about other peoples problems?

There's nothing wrong with it in my opinion. It brings down the people who's egos are too high for their own good. There's nothing wrong about caring about other's in general, but sometimes when the people close to you get the hint you don't care, they get mad, because then they feel like you're some ungrateful (excuse my french) bitch.
Actually, not wanting to resolve being a narcissist just depends on where you came from. Usually, some people are thrown into NPD because, somewhere in their mind, they don't want to go back to the way it was before. However, that is the case for most people with NPD.
So, in reality, it's not JUST the narcissism talking. Besides, there's nothing wrong with not caring about other people, in fact, society needs more narcissists because they are the ones who are willing to venture forward and not worry about what will happen to themselves or others.
Depending on your situation, it's either a good thing, or just something that changes your day-to-day life. It isn't all too serious, I'm just getting over mine anyways. Probably just another stage of depression.
