I've felt that way most of my life, I never really fit in with anybody and was in my own world most of the time (still am lol). My dreams are of other lives, of worlds, other existances... sometimes my dreams seem more alive than real life and I will have flashbacks all day and sometimes forget what actually happened in the waking world or was it in a dream. Maybe we are different than most, that our minds work differently than others. I like to think so sometimes. Maybe we can trade dream stories sometime. :)
I think self-discovery and figuring out who you are is a life-long process. I learn more about myself every year, so don't rush for an answer. The discovery is the fun part.
It is the same for me, I'm not sure what place is real & which is not. I tried to test it once & did something harmful to myself & to my bedroom wall in both worlds. I still have the scars in both lives, & the marks on the walls are still there so I'm still not sure. Both places are very real & I don't know what I'd do without either worlds. In one I am with my fiance William. In this one I am in a very complicated triangle with both a guy & a girl. My William is the love of my life, but is he real? My life seems like some kind of story you read about or see on tv, I can't explain why, but this is my life.
yeah, it's weird....i've had many similir instances.....like everyone/thing around me is there, but there's something keeping me from it. but when i dream, i feel more "at home" and more alive....like i belong "there" and not "here". i agree with troybob333.....i think we ARE diff. sigh
