What can I do to help my depression without medication?

asked by Melissa on 2 January 2008 3:39

I hate being this way, but even though I used to try things I loved, liked to do nothing helps. I would appreciate some advice from someone who deals with depression, because people I talk to "don't deal with it". If there are any ways to overcome this without perscription medications that would be wonderful because I don't beleive people need to take medications all the time. Most of the nation is on medication and probably don't need it or are making their condition worse or developing something new because of the medication. So If anyone is able to give me any insight in this i would be so greatful.

Some of the things you can do to deal with your depression are: exercise (endorphines make you feel good), read some self help or encouraging books, psychotherapy, and take natural supplements like St. John's Wort. Writing your feeling out also helps. So try organizing your thoughts and write a meaningful blog post.
