Why am I shedding so much hair?
asked by Melissa on 2 January 2008 2:48
I know that you lose a certian amount of hair a day, but I shed quite a bit in the shower and then I can grad my hair to put it up and some more strands come out. I find so much of my hair on the floor that is ends up balling up and it's gross. What is happening, is there something wrong with me?

Some people just shed more. My doctor checked everything on me and I was healthy but shedding worse than our cat and dog. I clogged up our bath tub so many times my husband finally put some type of catch on the drain so it prevents the hair from going down the drain and lets the water through. Brush your hair often (I brush twice a day) because it traps the hair on your brush not in your bed or on your clothes.
Wow, the link must have been too long that it didn't display the whole thing... well just add this to the end of the above mentioned link: "s/women-hair-loss-causes" - minus the quotes of course.
It may be some medical condition that may need some special treatment. You'll have to get a complete diagnosis from a specialist for sure though. For more info on female pattern baldness, check this site: http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/hair-loss/features/women-hair-loss-causes
