My name is Emily Adkins and I am a student at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. I am conducting my doctoral research project on the use of online social support forums among individuals who self-injure.

To participate in this study, it is necessary that you be 18+ years-old or older and have read, posted on, or replied to a post on an online message board for self-injurious behavior in the last month.

If you would like to participate in my survey, the information you provide will be extremely helpful to my research. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete and is anonymous. Any information that you share will be kept strictly confidential and private. For your participation, you will have the option to be entered into a drawing among the study participants for $100.

After being asked to confirm that you are 18 or older, you will first see a page called the "Informed Consent" which will outline your rights to participate or not. Only after agreeing to participate will you be directed to the study.
