Issues timonette is Interested In
- Insomnia -
- Parenting - Adolescents - How does this condition affect you? My oldest will graduate from high school in May. She's not ready to leave home & would like to take on-line courses. This fall, I'll have a high school Jr. & sophmore. I find that as the kids reach the teenage yrs., parents become idiots & their friend know it all & are right. I drive my kids crazy as I talk about sex, the harms of having sex at a young age & why they should wait until they're older. I think I'm open & honest about all subjects with my kids. I know my parents NEVER talked about sex or other things teenage peers try to influence on theor peers.
- Parenting - Elementary and Middle School Years - How does this condition affect you? My youngest will start school this fall. I'll a 4th grader, 6th grader & 8th grader.
- Smoking - How does this condition affect you? I find that it controls my life. I'm lucky to go up to 2 hrs before I start getting anxious. I find that I cough & wheeze more. Sick more often with upper respitory problems. In April, I cut back to 10 cigarettes a day. Midnight on June 16, 2008 I smoked my last cigarette. As of July 11, 2008, 25 days "SMOKE FREE"! NOT EASY to do But am doing it To better my health, the health of my family members & to save money!
timonette's Story
I'm 44, a mom of 7 children.
I started smoking at age 9 & within the last 10 yrs. started getting bronchitisb more often. I find myself coughing more & always catching my breath. I'm trying to cut back on smoking - bad days, 1 1/2 pka, ggod days 1/2 pk.
The stupidest thing I ever did was starting to smoke as a kid. That age, you don't know better & think it's cool. I tell my kids NOT to smoke as it's a BAD addiction that's HARD to kick.
My mom pasted away from lung cancer in 2003 & still I kept on smoking!
I have migraines more frequently, Dr. says it's hormones. I question hereditary, as my mom suffered with migraines most of her life. My children even get migraines! Last Nov., my Dr. put me on a Beta-Blocker to help prevent/control these migraines. I'm SO scared of getting addicted to things (smoking's BAD enough) that I stopped taking them a few weeks ago.
There are times I crave alcohol & during HIGH stress will drink (get tipsy) for months at a time, then I get scared of becoming addicted & go cold turkey. Why can't I do that with smoking?
I'd like input/support on ways to deal with breathing issues, how to cut back & hopefully stop smoking.
I'd also like to support others with their health issues or what ever they need to vent about.
